Last week I made a visit to the newly opened Curio Spice Co. in Cambridge! Claire's shop is filled with the loveliest top-quality spices from near and far. I was especially happy to find kaffir lime leaves since they're difficult to find in Boston. I could geek out for hours discussing the differences between salt sourced from Maine vs. salt sourced from Martha's Vineyard. Don't get me started on that Oregon Oregano. 😂 If you love to cook, this is a must-shop!
Bon Appetit Magazine just included one of Curio's spice blend's in their 15 Spice Blends we can't live without.
I cook with spices a lot and am in the habit of buying the majority of them from the bulk section at the co-op or Whole Foods. Something I've never seen at either of these places however, are locally sourced spices. Curio has a variety of locally sourced herbs, spices and salt and I think that's pretty cool. I'm all for Vermont thyme and Massachusetts spearmint!
Check out Curio Spice when you have some free time to linger and take in the aromas of her amazing spice selection. Apothecary jars full of exotic spices line the walls and shelves begging to be sniffed and tasted. Maybe don't try to lick the walls though 🤣 Thank you for sourcing fair trade, local and organic spices from around the world and making them available to our community in Boston, Claire! ❤️
When's the last time you cleaned out your spice cabinet?
